Purdue, local endowments relatively safe from market swings

Organizations and institutions such as Purdue University that use endowment revenue are watching their investments lose money by the day during the nation's financial crisis.

But officials with several Lafayette-area organizations say they believe they have enough safeguards in place to keep the impact of those losses minimal.
