Ever been stuck in a traffic snarl in Lafayette thanks to a winter storm, car crash or crowded downtown event?

An upcoming city project could help eliminate time spent behind the wheel during those kind of traffic hiccups, city officials said.

In March, city workers will begin to replace the electronic equipment of about 70 traffic lights around town, said Jenny Miller, the city's engineer.
