Sundowner closing trailer plant in Elkhart, moving 80 jobs to Oklahoma

Sundowner Trailers Inc., a maker of horse, livestock and living-quarters trailers, said in an Aug. 1 letter to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development that it will close its facility at 1110 C.R. 6 West in Elkhart.

The plant will be closed between Oct. 3 and Oct. 17, which will result in 80 layoffs. The company is relocating production to its corporate headquarters in Coleman, Okla., it said in the letter.
