Personnel changes were at the center of Thursday night’s Shelby Eastern Schools board meeting.

The school system didn’t renew employment contracts with three people as a cost-saving measure, while a longtime employee retired.

Contracts that weren’t renewed were for Craig Moore and Traci Mills, both Morristown Junior-Senior High School physical education and health teachers, and Jena Burley, a half-time kindergarten teacher at Morristown Elementary School, said Roseann Connor, deputy treasurer.

Connor said the contracts weren’t renewed because of cutbacks, and she wasn’t sure whether the employees would be replaced.
