DUNLAP -- Horizon 2.0 officials met with Elkhart County educators Wednesday evening to discuss what the future of education in the county could look like.
Concord Community Schools hosted the meeting, which included Dan Boecher, Horizon's chairman, and around three dozen officials and school board members from the county's seven school districts. During the hour-long meeting, Boecher reviewed goals of the Horizon committee and took questions about what comes next.
The Horizon Project began in 2002 with a mission of establishing a road map for Elkhart County. In 2009, Horizon 2.0 was launched, and its members narrowed the project's focus to strengthening education as a way to bolster the faltering economy.
