The community is invited to paint the next Color the County mural in Greenwood Saturday.

The painting day is a community event encouraging the public to come together and create a mural designed by artist Mandy Freshour. The mural is part of the Color the County program, through the Johnson County Community Foundation. The program has brought 12 murals to Johnson County since 2016.

The event is open to all and no artistic ability is necessary. Participants will receive supplies, paint and will be asked to fill in spaces on the building in a paint-by-numbers style project.

Painting is 9 a.m. to noon at Tom’s Barbershop, 338 Market Plaza, Greenwood.

The mural is inspired by Indiana summer nights and depicts a moon, lightning bugs and the silhouette of grass and dandelions.
