Nearly 400 people will lose their jobs when an Edinburgh manufacturing plant closes next year.

International Automotive Components, formerly Lear, will close by the second quarter of 2008 to reduce excess capacity in the company's facilities, according to a news release from the company.

Nearly 400 people work at the 200,000-square-foot Edinburgh plant, which supplies General Motors and Chrysler with products including door trim and instrument panels.

The company has not yet set a closing date.
