Allied Specialty Vehicles, which earlier this year acquired the Monaco and Holiday Rambler recreational-vehicle brands from Navistar International Corp., has placed them in a newly formed division and named a CEO to lead it.
John Draheim will be the new CEO of Allied Recreation Group Inc., which also will include ASV-owned brands Fleetwood and American Coach. Allied Recreation Group will be based in Decatur, where Fleetwood and American Coach RVs are manufactured and where production of the Monaco and Holiday Rambler brands was transferred from Wakarusa.
Other brands produced by Allied Recreation Group at its Decatur campus are Beaver, National and Safari.
"We have invested in four of the most renowned brands in the industry and our success in rebuilding Fleetwood and American Coach sets the stage for a similar return to power for Monaco and Holiday Rambler," Jim Meyer, chief operating officer at Allied Specialty Vehicle, said in a statement. "The formation of Allied Recreation Group will make the transition into the ASV family much smoother for our dealers and customers.
"We are inspired by the opportunities the new RV division presents, and excited to see them thrive under the leadership of John Draheim."
Draheim became president and CEO of Fleetwood in 2009 when the private-equity group that owns Allied Specialty Vehicles, American Industrial Partners, purchased the RV business and its fiberglass-making subsidiary, Gold Shield, from the bankrupt Fleetwood Enterprises Inc.
