Franciscan Alliance is in the process of closing an administrative and billing location on Bloomington’s west side and consolidating its operations with offices in Greenwood.
The Bloomington location, called Dynamic Medical Practice Services, employed about 54 people this spring. But it's lost 22 positions through layoffs, relocations and attrition. Franciscan wants to close it by the end of the fourth quarter of 2014.
Franciscan, a hospital and medical practice group operating in Indiana, Illinois and Michigan, has owned Dynamic Medical Practice Services since November of 2010. Dynamic Medical Practice Services is located at 1155 W. Third St. in Bloomington and provides office support for five Franciscan Immediate Care locations.
It handles medical billing and coding, information technology support and administrative oversight. It also coordinated hiring doctors for the immediate care locations.
