Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana shows no signs of giving up its position as the state's top earning gaming destination.

Data released Friday by the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) show Hard Rock in June tallied more "win," or revenue after paying successful bettors, than any of the 12 other commercial casinos in the Hoosier State for a 32nd consecutive month, or nearly three full years.

Hard Rock tallied $36.7 million in win last month — a 7.2% increase compared to its June 2023 win of $34.3 million, according to the IGC.

The Gary gaming, dining and entertainment attraction also accounted for more than 18% of the state's $199.7 million in total casino win for the sixth month of 2024.

Matt Schuffert, president of Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, said June "was a very solid month for Hard Rock Northern Indiana, kicking off what we believe will be a very strong summer."

"We continue to bring the newest slot product to our gaming floor, and our summer concert lineup is amazing, led by upcoming shows by Jerry Seinfeld, Sam Hunt, Babyface and Brad Paisley just to name a few," Schuffert said.

"We were very excited to kick off the Hard Rock Million Dollar Giveaway in July. One lucky Hard Rock customer will win a guaranteed $1 million on Dec. 27, 2024, with many other options to win prizes weekly until the grand finale night."

IGC data show Hard Rock’s state-leading slot machine play totaled $273 million in June, with a state-best win of $26.4 million; compared to June 2023 slot win of $24.9 million on $252.1 million in play.

In addition, the Gary casino led the state for June table game play, primarily baccarat, with $45.8 million, and was tops in table win at $10.3 million.

Indeed, more money once again was wagered at Hard Rock table games in June than the tables at the three other Northwest Indiana casinos combined ($36.8 million).

According to the IGC, the state’s former earnings leader, Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, last month ranked third in the state behind its Horseshoe Indianapolis sister property with $20 million in win — down 14.1% from its June 2023 win of $23.2 million.

Monthly win at Ameristar Casino in East Chicago also fell 10.7% to $14.1 million in June compared with $15.7 million for the same month in the prior year. Though Ameristar ($16 million) nearly matched Horseshoe ($17.8 million) for table game play last month.

On the other hand, last month’s win at Blue Chip Casino, in Michigan City, totaled $10.6 million versus $10.4 million last June, an increase of 2%, according to the IGC.

Across the state line, Bally's Chicago Casino reported June win of $10.4 million to the Illinois Gaming Board. In comparison, the Terre Haute Casino, which opened April 5 in a much smaller market in west-central Indiana, tallied $11.4 million in June win during its second full month of operations.

Data show the statewide online and retail sports wagering handle was $298.2 million last month, compared with $224.1 million in June 2023. The all-time monthly record of $513.7 million was set in November 2023.

In total, Indiana in June collected $62.8 million in tax revenue from slot machine and table game play, and $2.9 million from settled sports wagers, according to the IGC.
