A $170 million ethanol plant will anchor a new agricultural-industrial park in southeast Wabash County.

Vieste LLC plans to build the alternative fuel plant in the park it is developing for the county south of LaFontaine, the Indianapolis-based company announced Monday. The building would be capable of producing up to 88 million gallons of ethanol each year, like the plant Vieste is building in Benton County. The plant will employ 40 to 50 people at an average salary of $45,000, said Michael Comparato, president and chief executive of the company.
