The Indiana Attorney General’s Office has filed a lawsuit seeking more than $47,000 from a former Richland Township trustee and two former township employees, alleging they were overpaid or wrongly paid for hundreds of hours of leave time, without proper paperwork to explain the payments.
Defendants in the lawsuit are former trustee William Evans of Bloomington, former office manager Bonnie Lake Justice of Ellettsville and former investigator Le Ann Freeman of Stanford, according to a news release from the attorney general’s office.
The lawsuit was filed last week in Monroe County Circuit Court to collect on amounts that the State Board of Accounts found are owed to the public treasury, based on the board’s certified audit report last September.
