YORKTOWN — Yorktown Manor nursing home disclosed on Friday that one resident and four employees have tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Meanwhile, the Henry County Health Department announced that 28 residents and 10 staff members at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center in New Castle have tested positive for the virus.

The Yorktown facility also is raising concerns about the lack of testing — echoing nursing home trade group Indiana Health Care Association's complaint last week of "an urgent need to increase testing capacity in the state to be able to identify new cases and respond quickly."

"Despite the aggressive infection control efforts of our dedicated employees and diligence in following the most up-to-date guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local and state departments of health, Yorktown Manor has received its first cases of COVID-19," Yorktown Manor said in a news release.

"Our policy on COVID-19 is full transparency through near constant communication with our residents, families, and staff as well as providing information to our community via our websites."
