Every year, it seems like there are more students on the Indiana University campus in Bloomington, and in most recent years, that’s been true.
This fall, there actually are fewer students in Bloomington — 42,133 undergraduate and graduate students, to be exact, which is down 1.4 percent from last year’s enrollment count of 42,731. Credit hours are slightly lower as well, with students enrolled for 562,757 hours, a decrease of 1.3 percent from last year.
Systemwide, IU set another overall enrollment record, according to the official census compiled after the first week of classes. The seven campuses that IU operates tallied 102,067, with new campus marks set at IU East, IU Kokomo, IU Northwest and IU South Bend. Students were enrolled in record numbers of credit hours at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, IU East and IU Kokomo.
