WATERLOO — A company that produces landscape and masonry products wants to add a 67,000-square-foot building at its plant on C.R. 27, just north of U.S. 6.
Techo-Bloc has filed an amended development plan for the Waterloo location at 2397 C.R. 27.
The DeKalb County Plan Commission will review the petition at its meeting June 17 at 6 p.m. in the DeKalb County Courthouse.
Techo-Bloc announced its acquisition of the Waterloo plant, along with a manufacturing facility in Rock Island, Illinois, in March.
The company described the acquisition as “a very strategic addition,” saying it would give Techo-Bloc the additional production and distribution needed to meet a growing demand for landscape products in the Midwest and Southern United States.
“These new facilities will be a welcome addition to the current network of well-established partners already in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast regions,” the company said.
As a part of the expansion, Techo-Bloc said it will be making significant investments in technology at the Waterloo and Rock Island plants in addition to a new distribution center in the greater Chicago area.
