Bloomington has received the highest possible score on the Human Rights Campaign's Municipal Equality Index, garnering a 100 for the second year in a row.

The city is the only one scored in Indiana that received a 100 as part of the index, which is based upon a set of 44 criteria that fall into five broad categories: non-discrimination laws, municipal employment policies, inclusiveness of city services, law enforcement and municipal leadership.
