The class of 2024 marked the highest percentage of Hoosier high school students graduating, according to data released from the Indiana Department of Education on Monday.
Indiana's 2024 graduation rate showed 90.23% of students graduating high school, up from 88.98% in 2023.
It marks the highest graduation rate since the state began publishing data, with the class of 2014 having the second-highest graduation rate at 90.06%
Several demographic groups saw slight increases compared to 2023, according to the IDOE with Black and Hispanic students seeing nearly a one-and-a-half percent increase in graduation rates to 83.88% and 87.83%, respectively. English learners increased by nearly two percent to 89.48% and students in special education saw over a two percent jump in graduation rates to 85.30%.
Across Northwest Indiana's traditional public schools, Tri-Township, Washington Township, Morgan Township and Boone Grove high schools all achieved 100% graduation rates. Valparaiso, Chesterton, Lowell, Wheeler and Munster high schools had at least a 98% graduation rate.
For the third consecutive year, Andrean High School achieved a 100% graduation rate, topping the Region's non-public schools. Hammond Academy of Science & Technology had the highest graduation rate among charter schools, at just over 97%.
