Municipal councils across Northwest Indiana will meet this week to weigh proposed ordinances and resolutions.
Here is a look at some of the agendas that have already been published. More will become available closer to the meeting dates.
Valparaiso City Council
When: Monday, Feb. 9 at 6:00 p.m.
Where: Valparaiso City Hall (166 Lincolnway) or via livestream on Valparaiso's website.
Agenda highlights:
A symbolic resolution set to be considered by Valparaiso's City Council on Monday would express the body's "deep grief and outrage" at the January killings of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti. The two Minneapolis residents, both U.S. citizens, were fatally shot by federal immigration agents in separate incidents last month.
The resolution, proposed by Councilman Robert, Cotton, D-2, "urges accountability at all levels – the individual Federal officers who used lethal force, their supervisors, and the agencies that authorize and direct these operations – consistent with the principles of Due Process and fair administration of justice."

Hammond Common Council
When: Monday, Feb. 9 at 6:00 p.m.
Where: Hammond City Hall (5925 Calumet Ave) or via livestream on Hammond's Facebook page.
