SOUTH BEND — The South Bend Community School Corp. board worked through a laundry list of budget-cutting ideas Monday — from fewer teachers and administrators to a bare-bones summer school.

Superintendent James Kapsa and his administration offered more than $9.2 million in suggested cuts.

It’s more than the nearly $8.2 million that’s actually needed because, for now, these are just ideas from which to choose. And on Monday, he was gathering feedback from the board.
