Up next for Muncie Schools: Cuts for prep athletics

MUNCIE -- Underclassmen working their way up to varsity teams will have fewer opportunities in seven sports at Muncie's high schools if the school board approves budget cuts presented this week.

Those cuts, which won't be voted on until at least April, eliminate or combine the ninth-grade and junior-varsity teams in football, volleyball, boys and girls soccer, boys basketball, baseball and softball.
