Fort Wayne officials are reconsidering their options because development along Fort Wayne’s riverfront is on hold after nearly $4 million was cut from the city budget for next year.

Republicans on council said avoiding dipping into city savings was their top priority for the budget. The largest cut of the night was more than $3.8 million for the proposed third phase of the riverfront development. Council President Russ Jehl, R-2nd, said that was part of his three-pronged approach to the budget that included tapping the brakes on future developments.
