TIPPECANOE COUNTY - The Tippecanoe County Health Department said Gateway to Hope, its needle exchange program, found 35 cases of hepatitis C in April.
"That's alarming," said Commissioner Tracy Brown.
The county has seen a sharp uptick in hepatitis C cases over the last few years, which led the county to start Gateway to Hope. Last year, there were about 150 new cases of the disease.
