MUNCIE, Ind. – A longtime Delaware County business will be making downtown Muncie its new home, filling a vacant space on Walnut Street in the heart of the city.

Accutech Systems, a leading software company for the trust and investment industry, will make a significant investment downtown by moving into the former Sears Department Store building at 115 S. Walnut Street. by the end of the year.

The 40,000 sq. ft. space, where The Arsenal crossfit gym had been until moving to a location on Centennial Avenue last year, will see a $5.5 million investment by Accutech, which will buy the building from Roebuck LLC and redevelop it.

The business currently employs 53 people locally and 25 additional remote workers. By 2023, the company intends to grow to at least 100 local employees. The company, founded locally in 1987, currently has its headquarters near Gill Bros. Furniture in Yorktown.

Accutech President Adam Unger spoke to a crowd gathered inside the building to see the project's unveiling. He said the company was quickly outgrowing its current space and it was time to consider a move.
