Orange County trustees see their role as a vital one

Between them, Orange County residents Max Hall, Rodney Brewer and Phillip Stroud have served 64 years as township trustees, elected by their neighbors to ensure fire protection, mow forgotten cemeteries and pay for burials. They also provide financial aid to the down-and-out.

Hall has been trustee in Orleans Township 32 years. He lost his first time up for election, then later beat the incumbent by one vote. Hall has conducted township business from his home office a mile outside the town of Orleans since 1978.
