Franklin manufacturing business is looking for a new home.

Greenwood Machine, which makes parts for bicycles, surgical tools and other precision instruments, plans to relocate a few blocks down the road.

The business will occupy the former Franklin Plastic Products building, 700 International Drive, president and owner Fred McWilliams said.

Greenwood Machine needs a new building because McWilliams wants more room for the assembly portion of the business, a move that eventually will require him to hire two or three more employees.

Greenwood Machine, which opened in 1992 in Franklin, employs about 35 people, McWilliams said.

Franklin's technical review committee will have to approve the site plan for the company's new site before it will be allowed to relocate.
