GM closings may have drastic effects, South Bend parts supplier says

At least one local automobile parts supplier fears GM's announcement this week to temporarily close 13 plants this summer could have a dramatic impact on suppliers -- locally and nationally.

But another supplier, Jim Krzyzewski, president and chief executive of Nyloncraft in Mishawaka, said he wanted to wait until he had all the details on the plant closings before making a comment.

And an area business leader thought diversification could mitigate the impact on some suppliers.
