Indiana's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped slightly in September.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development will release the unadjusted jobless rates for county, city and metropolitan statistical areas on Tuesday.

The September unemployment rate was 6.2 percent, down from 6.4 percent in August and 6.3 percent in July. However, the current figure is higher than the 4.5 percent recorded in September 2007.

Neighboring states Michigan and Ohio turned in significantly higher September rates, 8.7 percent and 7.2 percent respectively.
