Navistar completes purchase of Monaco, includes Elkhart, Kosciusko County plants

Navistar International Corp. announced today it has completed its acquisition of the Monaco Coach RV division.

The purchase price was about $47 million and includes the assets, inventory and intellectual property. Also the facilities located in Wakarusa and Milford, as well as Coburg and Harrisburg, Ore., were part of the purchase.

Navistar stated in a press release that it intends to resume production at certain facilities in the coming months.

The new company will be named Monaco RV LLC and will operate as a wholly-owned affiliate of Navistar, Inc. Monaco headquarters will remain located in Coburg, Ore.

In the press release, Jack Allen, president of Navistar's North American truck group stated, "The Monaco brand is a market leader with a strong reputation and Navistar is please to add it to our portfolio of leading brands and businesses."
