Printpack to close plant but may stay in Monroe County

While Printpack Inc. announced plans today to close its only Bloomington-area manufacturing plant, tax breaks worth $2.8 million could entice the company to expand operations in Monroe County.

The company has requested a 10-year tax abatement that would allow it to build a new plant and preserve local operations, said David Benedict, the company's corporate director of human resources.

Printpack employs 151 people locally.
