MUNCIE -- The landmark property-tax-reform bill passed by the state Legislature this year is delivering promises of relief to taxpayers -- and predictions of disaster for local government.
Delaware County property taxpayers are expected to save $32,260 this year, $9.5 million next year and $20.6 million in 2010 as a result of the new circuit breaker credits, while Delaware County taxing units are expected to lose those same amounts.
