Superior Essex is moving production from its Clifton Park, N.Y. facility to Fort Wayne and expected to create 15 jobs next year.

The production is part of an expansion at the Fort Wayne manufacturing and distribution operation at 3405 Meyer Road. Superior Essex, a wire and cable manufacturer, invested $1.3 million on the project, which is expected to improve quality and capacity, according to a written statement from the Fort Wayne-Allen County Economic Development Alliance.

The Fort Wayne City Council is expected to consider a $247,289, 10-year tax abatement for the project. The city of Fort Wayne also could give the company a $64,000 grant.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. will provide $400,000 in tax credits and $55,000 from the Skills Enhancement Fund. Superior Essex also is eligible for $75,000 in job training, $25,000 in recruitment and assessment services, and $15,000 in computer training services from WorkOne Northeast, according to the statement.
