Taking aim at blight in Richmond

Richmond city officials are hoping a federal housing grant will help change the face of one of the city's older neighborhoods.

They also hope the project will pay dividends throughout the city for years to come.

The city has applied for a $3 million federal housing grant through the state of Indiana to work with prospective homebuyers, contractors and Realtors to buy and rehabilitate homes in foreclosure and get them inhabited.
