The University of Southern Indiana will raise tuition and fees 5 percent each of the next two years, the school's trustees announced this morning.

Full-time, in-state undergraduate students would pay $5,334 in tuition and fees for the 2009-10 school year (up from $5,079 last year), then $5,600 for 2010-11.

The school will host a public hearing at 10 a.m. on July 20 in the university's Carter Hall to get public opinion and comment on the changes.
