The Paper of Montgomery County

Montgomery County Commissioners hope a wind farm will be generating in the county in the near future.

"If everything were to fall in place perfectly, I would say late 2009, early 2010," Stewardship Energy LLC Project Developer David Emmert.

Stewardship Energy proposed to build the wind farm in Sugar Creek and Madison Townships, located in the northeast corner of the county.

Commissioners discussed concerns of climbing and maintaining the towers. Ladders are not on the outside of the towers, but fences can cause problems for farmers in the area, Emmert said.

"It was my hope to have something in place by the end of the year," Commissioner President Harry Siamas said.

More research needs to be done, commissioners agreed. The public will be given a 30-day notice before commissioners vote on the ordinance.
