Employer tax hike endorsed by panel to help fix state's unemployment insurance problem

INDIANAPOLIS - A key labor panel voted Tuesday to raise taxes on businesses by about $300 million, although members conceded the amount is not enough to fix the state's broken unemployment insurance trust fund.

"I agree it's not enough money, but it sets some basic parameters," said Rep. Russ Stilwell, D-Boonville.
