Bloomington entrepreneur Steve Wasick launched an artificial intelligence business, more or less by accident, when he was in law school more than a decade ago. InfoSentience now has tens of thousands of users per day — and many don’t even know the business behind the product.

Steven Wasick, founder and CEO of infoSentience, speaks about his company and its future outside of The Mill on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025.
Wasick said when he was in his third year in law school, in 2012, his studies kept him so busy that he couldn’t keep up with what was happening in his fantasy football league.

“And I was like, ‘Man, it'd be really cool if I could get coverage about my league the same way you get coverage about the NFL or something, because I like reading about, you know, big blowout wins or somebody got revenge for something in the playoffs from last year, whatever. You know, like, all these things that actually make sports interesting and make fantasy more interesting.’”

So he began building an artificial intelligence that functions much like a sports reporter and writes stories about the games taking place in the fantasy football league.

Wasick said he quickly realized that creating an AI that produces accurate, interesting, high-quality content posed some significant challenges.
