As bills continue to evolve in both houses of the Indiana General Assembly, education reform remains the most polarizing issue facing legislators.
More than 1,000 teachers, organized by the Indiana State Teachers Association and the Indiana Federation of Teachers, rallied Tuesday at the Statehouse, protesting bills they say will negatively impact public education.
Gov. Mitch Daniels criticized the rally, releasing a statement accusing the unions of demanding "more money, no change."
Many teachers remain frustrated, feeling criticized for an education system Daniels and state Superintendent Tony Bennett have labeled "a mess."
