The Fort Wayne Community Schools leader urged federal officials in a one-page statement Wednesday to immediately release nearly $4.5 million in funding promised to the city’s public and private schools.
Superintendent Mark Daniel’s plea followed news that President Donald Trump’s administration is withholding more than $6 billion in federal grants for after-school and summer programs, English language instruction, adult literacy and more as part of a review to ensure grants align with the president’s priorities.
