Four out of the six county police officers laid off on Friday have been recalled back to their jobs, Lake County Sheriff Roy Dominguez confirmed on Monday.
Dominguez said his administration spoke with the Lake County Council financial adviser and county police union officials Monday to work out the funding to recall the officers. He said the four officers had been notified they were being brought back.
"For the police officers, it's collectively an early Christmas gift that four more officers stay on the job," Dominguez said. "I also hope to come up with a plan in which to bring the other two officers back in the near future."
