The Planned Parenthood center in Bloomington is not one of the eight Planned Parenthood centers in the state that receive family planning funds to serve low-income patients. Those are in Gary, East Chicago, Michigan City, Elkhart, Bedford, Seymour, Scottsburg and New Albany.
Even with the federal funding, the eight centers operate at a net loss of more than $90,000 a year, with Planned Parenthood making up the difference through private fundraising.
