Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear and Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer will kick-off an industry forum planned for the Ohio River Bridges Project on Feb. 16.

The Louisville and Southern Indiana Bridges Authority — along with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and the Indiana Department of Transportation — is hosting the industry forum that will showcase the bridges project, explore creative approaches to project development and seek cost-saving ideas, according to a press release from the bridges authority.

The conference is scheduled for Feb. 16 and 17 at the Kentucky International Convention Center in downtown Louisville. No specific times have been set.

A host of contractors, developers and construction and engineering firms have been invited to the forum.

The first day of the forum will provide attendees with information about the project as well as facilitate dialogue among prospective collaborators for the project, according to the release.

The second day will consist of an open forum and scheduled meetings with potential lead developers and contractors to hear their ideas on innovation and project delivery alternatives.

Advance registration is encouraged for those planning to attend the industry forum and will be accepted at the authority’s website at www.bridgesauthority.com.

The small-group meetings on the second day will require advanced registration and arrangements.

If you are interested in having a small group meeting with bridges representatives, e-mail anichols@indot.in.gov.
