Muncie Mayor Sharon McShurley vetoes consolidation plan

MUNCIE -- The political battle to consolidate some elements of Muncie and Delaware County government, in the process eliminating positions such as mayor and county commissioner, has taken another turn.

Mayor Sharon McShurley this week vetoed the Muncie City Council's June 6 measure approving a local government reorganization committee's consolidation proposal, albeit with a controversial amendment.
