Only 10% of Ivy Tech students in East Central Region graduate within 3 years

MUNCIE -- Ivy Tech Community College is taking steps to improve its below-average graduation rates.

According to the Indiana Commission for Higher Education (ICHE), the percentage of students who completed their degrees within three years at the two-year college's East Central Region was only 6.6 in 2008. That increased to 9.8 percent in 2009.

By comparison, the three-year graduation rate from public two-year colleges nationally averaged 22.1 percent in both 2008 and 2009.
