Like a lot of people, Brad Neiswanger and his family have been living pretty close to poverty’s edge.

If not for help from the Bloomington Township trustee’s office, they might have fallen over it.

Instead, they landed in a temporary shelter where 4-year-old Jacob can run around and his mom can cook dinner on a stove. They have been living there since Jan. 21. That’s when their money ran out and they could no longer pay the $201.40 weekly rent at the Scottish Inn.
