The Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s top priorities for the 2017 session include long-term transportation infrastructure funding, expanding state-funded preschool to children from low-income families and reducing the state’s smoking rate, the organization’s announced Monday at its annual legislative preview in Indianapolis.
In a press release, the Indiana Chamber ranked its top eight priorities as:
•establishing a long-term sustainable funding stream for the state’s roads, bridges, etc.
•expanding of publicly-funded preschool initiatives for children from low-income families
•suitable testing for students and accountability for all involved in the education process
•creating a comprehensive approach to decreasing the state’s smoking rate
