Casino Aztar saw its revenue drop in September but the facility still outperformed the state average, according to a state gaming report.
Including both table games and electronic gaming, Aztar's revenues totaled $9.6 million in September. That's down 1.9 percent from the same period a year earlier.
The numbers come from the Indiana Gaming Commission's September revenue report, which was released Wednesday.
The report details how many people visited each of Indiana's casinos last month, how much those visitors wagered and how much each facility earned in revenue and paid in taxes.
Aztar's September revenue number includes $1.3 million in revenue from table games like poker and blackjack; and $8.4 million from electronic gaming. (These two numbers add up to more than $9.6 million because of rounding.)
Despite the decline, Aztar did outperform the state average last month.
Combined, all of Indiana's casinos earned a total of $210.4 million in September, a decline of 4.8 percent as compared to a year ago.
In September Aztar paid $2.0 million in taxes, down 2.9 percent from what it paid a year ago.
Casinos in Indiana pay taxes based on both wagering and admissions.
Aztar's visitor count in September was 95,737, down 6.6 percent as compared with a year ago.
The state's casinos combined saw 1,983,093 visitors in September, down 4.9 percent.
