Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry on Thursday said the city will contract with two organizations that will study the possible effects of gaming on the city.
In a statement, Henry said the Third House Advocacy Group LLC, an Indianapolis-based firm, will conduct an independent analysis of the market potential for gaming in the Fort Wayne area and evaluate its economic and fiscal impacts.
Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne's Community Research Institute will coordinate an assessment of gaming's social and community effects.
Both studies are expected to be completed by mid-February.
County Economic Development Income Tax revenue will be used to fund the studies, the city said. The city's contract with Third House is for $32,000. The Community Research Institute's work is part of an existing contra
