MUNCIE -- Increasing demand for the wind turbine gear boxes Brevini Wind plans to build at its western Delaware County plant has prompted the company to accelerate its schedule.
Brevini Wind officials said Thursday that the start of production at the plant, originally set "for first quarter 2011, is being moved up to late third quarter 2010, accelerating the project schedule by six months," according to the announcement.
Brevini Wind project development director Greg Winkler also announced that an Indianapolis construction company will build the firm's 132,000-square-foot wind turbine gearbox factory west of Muncie.
