Howard County Treasurer Martha Lake received mail last week that will impact many taxing entities in the county.
Lake received a check in the amount of $3,763,834 for the payment of the spring tax installment from Delphi Corp.
"That was good news," Lake said.
Lake said her office has not heard whether Chrysler Group LLC will pay the spring property tax installment.
"They normally pay on the last day or the day before," she said.
Chrysler owes approximately $8.3 million in property taxes, $2.2 million is real property and $6.1 million is personal property.
County Assessor Jamie Shepherd said county officials have been in communication with Chrysler's attorneys on a regular basis regarding the tax payment.
