GM managers, union leaders and others Tuesday warned of a dire future for northeast Indiana if the Allen County assembly plant were to shut its doors. They said 25,000 in the region would lose their jobs, including 13,000 in Allen County.

Area governments also would lose heavily on tax revenue: Allen County would lose $1.85 million in annual payroll taxes; and the county, state and Southwest Allen County Schools would lose $4.8 million in yearly property taxes, plant manager Mike Glinski said.
